Building a Sustainable Children’s Music Library
In order to provide the best possible education for the children participating in the String Project, we must purchase music that has been specially arranged so it can be played by students. This means it is written for beginning level students to perform as they learn how to play their instruments. Having a full music library of this kind of music means that our students would be able to play different kinds of repertoire from the classics, to jazz, to bluegrass and fiddle music.

The String Project needs your help to make this happen. Truthfully, our library shelves are more than a little bare, which makes this the kind of project where a small donation can have a huge impact. Your gift of $8, $17, or $35 would ensure that 80+ children would have new music to perform--and that's just this year. Because music can be played many times, your gift would provide a legacy of music for children in our program in the future. Over 5 years, your gift could put music on the stands of over 400 students!
The UMass Lowell String Project received the 2013-2014 String Project of the Year Award by the American String Teacher's Association and the National String Project Consortium
